Palaeomagnetism and Magnetic Properties of Rocks 1976
Palaeomagnetic and magnetic fraction investigations of basaltic rocks from Góra Św. Anny and Ligota Tułowicka near Opole, Lower Silesia (Poland), have been carried out.
Primary NRM synchronous with lava cooling is present in the investigated samples; it is connected with titanomagnetite phase, primary with respect to magma, and with its oxidation products at high temperatures.
The polarity of geomagnetic field at the period of formation of the basaltic rocks in question was reverse. The palaeomagnetic pole for Góra Św. Anny and Ligota Tułowicka is closest to these of the upper Tertiary.
