Symposium on Earthquake Physics. Jabłonna, 29–31 May 1972
Volume: 62
Series:
The wave field of a propagating rupture is determined on the basis of the mathematical solution (Vvedenskaya, 1969) for continuous surface distribution of balanced double couples. The results obtained show that the field is characterized by a pulse train in the longitudinal and shear waves which indicate the time distribution of energy release at the source and the direction of its radiation into space.
