Meteorological Conditions, Hornsund, Spitsbergen, 2003/2004
The Polish Polar Station of the Institute of Geophysics is located nearby the entrance to the Hornsund fiord (Spitsbergen). It is situated at the northern shore of the fiord, by the Isbjornhamna bay, at a height of about 10 m a.m.s.l. The meteorological measurements and observations at the Polish Polar Station Hornsund had been initiated in 1957, during the International Geophysical Year, and carried out until the fall of 1958. They were resumed in July 1978, when the Polar Station was reactivated, and since then the station has been in incessant operation.
Results of Atmospheric Electricity and Meteorological Observations, S. Kalinowski Geophysical Observatory at Świder - 2003
Author(s): Kubicki M.
The present issue contains the results of recordings of some elements of atmospheric electricity and daily observations of major meteorological factors noted at the S. Kalinowski Geophysical Observatory of the Polish Academy of Sciences at Świder in 2003. Data for the years 1957-1965 have been published in "Prace Obserwatorium Geofizycznego im. S. Kalinowskiego w Świdrze" and for 1966-2003 in "Publications of the Institute of Geophysics, Polish Academy of Sciences".
Atmospheric Ozone, Solar Radiation, Belsk 2003. *** Ozone and UV Radiation over Central Europe. GEODEV Workshop
Editor(s): Krzyścin J.
Ozone observations have been made by means of Dobson spectrophotometer No. 84 in the Geophysical Observatory at Belsk since March 1963. This publication presents all total ozone values and vertical distribution of ozone over Belsk in 2003 obtained from the conventional Umkehr observations.***The main goal of workshop has been to gather scientists from Central Europe involved in the ozone and UV studies to share their experiences and to discuss the UV changes and processes that affect surface UV radiation over this part of Europe. Large emphasis has been placed on the calibration and maintenance of the existing ozone and UV observing systems, developing of new instruments and quality control methods, and the data analyses using the results from both, the ground-based and satellite UV instruments.
Meteorological Conditions, Hornsund, Spitsbergen, 2002/2003
Author(s): Kwaczyński J.
The Polish Polar Station (77°00'N, 15°33'E) of the Institute of Geophysics is located nearby the entrance to the Hornsund fiord (Spitsbergen). It is situated at the northern shore of the fiord, by the Isbjornhamna bay, at a height of about 10 m a.s.l. The fiord's axis extends, roughly speaking, from east to west. The fiord is approximately 30 km long, 5-15 km wide, and penetrates the island upto half of its width.
Atmospheric Ozone, Solar Radiation, 2002
Ozone observations have been made by means of Dobson spectrophotometer No. 84 in the Geophysical Observatory at Belsk since March 1963. This publication presents all total ozone values and vertical distribution of ozone over Belsk in 2002 obtained from the conventional Umkehr observations.
